The Journey from Restoration to Ritual

For over four decades, my world centered on the art of restoration. I spent my days in auction houses and charity shops, rescuing “sad” and “unwanted” furniture from skips and bringing it back to life. This lifelong passion for transformation taught me one vital lesson: with the right care and traditional methods, anything can be revived.

A Shift in Focus Years of heavy sanding and French polishing eventually took a toll on my hands. Seeking a gentler way to work, I began researching the power of natural ingredients. I decided to create my own handmade beeswax polishes to achieve a professional luster with minimum effort, allowing me to continue my craft without the physical strain.

The Goat’s Milk Difference

A Premium Standard in Skincare.

As I explored natural solutions, I became fascinated by the difference a specific milk can make. My research led me to Goat’s Milk, a premium ingredient that has been prized for centuries for its exceptional moisturizing and healing properties.

Fresh Goat’s Milk, Saponified Oils (Olive, Coconut, Sustainable Palm), Vitamin E Oil.

Unlike cow’s milk, goat’s milk has a pH level remarkably similar to human skin. This allows the skin to deeply absorb its high concentration of vitamins, minerals, and alpha hydroxy acids, which naturally nourish and rejuvenate. I eventually traveled to Scotland to study under an experienced teacher, Debbie, who taught me the traditional cold process method of soap-making to ensure these vital nutrients remain intact in every bar.

Rooted in the Irish Landscape

Happy Goats, Delicious Milk. Quality starts at the source. Our raw goat’s milk comes exclusively from Glen Farm in Dunmore. We believe that “happy goats make delicious milk,” and our goats live happily on the edge of the East Coast of Ireland, enjoying the fresh coastal air. This local connection ensures that every Woodbrook Handmade product is rooted in the landscape we love.

The Woodbrook Promise Whether it is a bar of soap or a tin of polish, every item at Woodbrook Handmade is:

  • Hand-Made & Hand-Cut: We use a restored 1930s enamel cutter to slice our bars, which are then cured for 6–8 weeks.
  • 100% Plastic-Free: From our ingredients to our handmade boxes tied with natural jute string, we are committed to zero-waste packaging.
  • Born of Tradition: We use beautiful butters and oils and traditional methods to create products that are kind to your skin and your home.

A Note from the Maker

“Don’t worry if a piece looks a bit distressed… if you revive it, it won’t go into a landfill. Enjoy doing it! That’s what matters!”
